Sometimes after a long day at school, kids just need some time to let loose and have some fun. The Nintendo Wii system is a great gaming system that has many options that can keep kids active and having fun. Nintendo has recently partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) with a joined goal of helping Americans become more active. The Wii systems and their programs, WiiFit Plus and Wii Sports Resort will both feature the AHA logo. They will also feature the motto, “Working together to promote physically active play as part of a healthy lifestyle.” Because so many Americans are involved with Nintendo gaming systems and products, it is a great way to get this message about healthy lifestyles to these people.
The two brands are also holding a summit, where they will bring people from fields like fitness, health and gaming all together. These experts all come from different backgrounds of study, but have the same end goal. Heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death in the United States. Being active is one of the most simplest and useful ways to lower that risk. Games like Wii Fit are a fun and interactive way to make physical activity accessible and fun. The more fun the activity is, the more people will want to participate and enjoy doing it.
Since the release of the Wii, there have been more products released that have to do with fitness and health. If you have a Wii system, get your kids to get moving towards a healthy lifestyle!
