FoolProof Teacher is a website with tools for educators and students that teaches students about money and personal finances. The founder of the website, Will deHoo, lectures schools on tips for students on how to become money savvy. The lectures have proved to be a success for students according to a story recently published in San Francisco Chronicle where it describes how Mr. deHoo shares his knowledge with a class at Stuart Hall.
The website is not affiliated with any banks nor does it promote any brands. It does provide programs for high schools, college students, homeschools, and offices. The programs are currently being used in over 1,000 schools across the country. The program is also aligned to most state and national standards.
Some of the topics explained in the programs include impulse spending, bad credit scores, predatory lenders, identity theft, etc. Many students graduate high school and start college not knowing how to handle money. The program addresses current situations and common issues amongst young adults when handling finances.
Many parents and educators fail to educate new generations on money matters because they themselves were not educated on the subject. The program provides fun and interactive lessons and videos that engage students on these topics. The FoolProof Teacher site offers a demo for high schools, work places, colleges, and homeschools.
